Lunch:

  • 3 hamburger slider patties with a little cheese, no bun
  • Kale salad with avocado ranch dressing

Dinner:

  • Smoothie — 1 scoop protein powder, big handful of baby spinach, coconut milk + coconut water base, same fruit blend as the Day 4 smoothie (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, dark sweet cherries, pomegranate arils, banana)

Throughout the day (standing pattern, every day): whole avocado, red seedless grapes, raisins, pistachios, walnuts, sprouted pumpkin seeds — grazed after meals and in between.

Evening supplement bump: 2 extra aspirin (4 × 325mg total for the day), turmeric up to 4 more capsules, beetroot up to 4 capsules — the start of a higher-dose anti-inflammatory schedule (AM + PM) that carries into Day 8.

Exercise:

3/4 mile walk after breakfast, injections, and supplements. Walking still aggravates the wound and feet, but staying sedentary makes it worse too — so it's pacing in short bouts, aiming for 1–1.5 miles a day plus regular stretching and movement.

Wound — end of Week 1 photo:

First wound photo since the Day 1 baseline. Going forward, the plan is a photo once a week to track progress.

Several small scabbed spots (dark red/maroon, some still moist) clustered over roughly a 2-inch stretch of the ankle, with the surrounding skin looking thin and glossy — consistent with new tissue regenerating over the area. No visible pus or spreading redness. Reads as active scab formation over multiple small sites rather than one large open wound.

Pain in both feet and the wound area has noticeably improved overall. Some context: the two weeks before starting this protocol were spent doing hard physical labor — packing up the camper and trailer, sweating, working every day — while taking ibuprofen, acetaminophen, and naproxen daily. None of those three are in the picture anymore; leaning on beetroot and turmeric instead.

Left ankle wound, end of Week 1

New observation — sugar and pain:

About an hour after the dinner smoothie, noticeably more pain in the feet. Sugar seems to be a trigger, and the left leg is more susceptible than the right — likely because the old Achilles injury restricts blood and lymph flow through that ankle more than the other side.

Weight:

156 lbs today — down from 160 lbs on Day 1 and 165 lbs about a month before starting the protocol.
